This gorgeous home blends into a magnificent 5-acre estate-style forested property at the foothills of Tiger Mountain in Issaquah, WA. Completely surrounded by a mature forest of cedar and pine trees, this home blends into nature with elevated views, creating a tree house dynamic. The home has a wide inviting floor plan with 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and expansive 18-foot vaulting ceilings with floor to ceiling windows capturing all the natural light. A large chef’s kitchen with an oversized island allows for the maximum culinary experience, with luxury appliances, an eight-burner 1,200 BTU range, and a stone-clad hood.

01/ Tear Down

The family room and dining room boast 1,800 SF of entertainment area for family and friends to enjoy maximum comfort and scale. The home is equipped with maximum efficiency infrastructure, including radiant floor hydronic heat and on-demand domestic hot water with unlimited capacity. The diaphragm of the exterior walls has blown-in natural insulation to minimize heat loss and maintain maximum ambient warmth during winter and cooling during summer.

02/ Lot Prep

Given the materials selections, insulation, heating, domestic hot water and efficient energy consumption, this home functions with a 30-35% lower operating cost then an average new home. These features significantly reduce energy consumption and help lower overall maintenance costs over the life of the building. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, and there is also a separate ADU apartment with a second kitchen.

03/ Foundation

All materials were custom sourced and imported per the clients’ specific aesthetic requirements. Schenkar Construction Design/Build provided all resources for a turn-key custom product. Every one of our homes is commissioned for our clients’ specific tastes and design needs. This particular project included: Land use research, survey, environmental study, well drilling, structural, civil and geotechnical engineering, as well as a complete interior design package.

04/ Framing

This was a full-scale development type project that also included: Land clearing, logging and tree removal, water, power, gas trench and heavy infrastructure installation. This home also included: Excavation, foundation, framing and the full custom home package from end to end. This project was completed in a record Schenkar Construction time of ten (10) months.
